Sullinger Free Falling Out Of The First Round

Had Jared Sullinger gone into the draft last year, he could have possibly been the number one pick in the NBA draft. He passed on this opportunity however and may soon be regretting that decision. Sullinger recently underwent a series of medical tests in order to prove to organizations that he is indeed healthy enough to play in the NBA. Unfortunately for Jared, he has been red flagged by doctors as a prospect who may not have a long NBA career.

Despite putting up terrific numbers and playing against stiff competition this past year, doctors have reported that Sullinger has a chronic back issue as well as a leg that is much shorter than the other. Almost nothing can shy teams away from a prospect more than health issues.  Although he was believed to be a top 10 pick coming into the draft, Sullinger's unimpressive NBA combine performance on top of this health report may cause him to slide all the way out of the first round.

Sullinger is an amazing example of how fast your reputation can change. One day you are regarded as a blue chip prospect and the next day you are damaged goods. His story is very similar to San Antonio Spurs forward Dejuan Blair who was being talked about as the number one pick in his draft class. This was until teams learned that Dejuan Blair doesn't have ACL's in either knee and is basically a walking miracle.

So will Sullinger's bad news be an NBA teams benefit. There is no doubt that this man has a ton of talent and a lot to offer an NBA team. On top of his stellar play, he is also a good kid who could be good for an NBA locker room. So I ask you, will Sullinger be the steal of this years draft, or a future health nightmare for an organization to deal with on a daily basis?
